I don’t think I can remember having a more stressful week. I’m getting ready to head overseas so there’s approximately 3,730,815 things I have to get done before I leave. But no matter, you still get posts and, of course, a best of the week. How’s that for commitment?
Astros Name 27-year-old David Stearns Assistant GM – Matt Snyder, CBS Sports. Well. I don’t think I need to tell you how high my jealousy (and motivation) levels are right now. He only graduated in 2007 and look where he is now. He is going to be my role model for the next five years. At least.
On 9-year-old Sam Gordon, the Female Cody Paul – Bob Cook, Forbes SportsMoney. Dude. You don’t even know. If you haven’t seen a video of this girl yet, you are missing out on life. While I don’t think she’ll ever play in the NFL (not that she couldn’t, I just don’t think she will) I don’t really like the author’s spin on this. He ends up talking about Cody Paul and how this girl isn’t going to be very good later in life. Can’t we just relish the fact that she’s good now?
The Pirlo, Totti and Xavi Rule: Football’s Pass Masters Get Better with Age – Will Tidey, Bleacher Report. There’s a general rule of thumb that players peak between their mid to late 20s, depending on the sport and position (baseball players, for instance, peak with hitting around 26 and pitching around 28). But this article breaks it down even further and saying that in soccer, passing skills get better with age. They attribute it to experience and being able to read the field. If I wasn’t already deep into AFL research, I’d have to check this one out myself…
8 Roadblocks That Prevent You From Reaching Your Full Potential – Get Busy Living. Okay, okay. It’s not a sports related post. But c’mon. Doesn’t everyone need a little inspiration once in a while?
And be sure to check out my most recent post for Babes Dig Balls, on AFL: Australia’s game.
Have a great weekend guys 🙂
