I really did not want to do this.
I have made it clear that Mr. Tippett is mot my favourite athlete and I certainly don’t believe he’s a good person (although “good” is subjective so maybe I just have high standards). But alas, he will debut today for my Sydney Swans so I guess I will just have to suck it up and mute the applause when he runs onto the field… and maybe even the commentary because I know he will be the subject of it all.
I don’t know if you know this about me, but I’m a pretty loyal gal. If someone I care about does something wrong or something I don’t like, I may let them know about it, but I won’t let anyone say anything negative about them or their actions.
So from here on out… Kurt Tippett is part of my team.
He served his suspension and, even I have to admit, served it well. Now, I wasn’t a fan of him being the face of the Swans but he did what he was supposed to – he spent time with the kids and appeared on all those TV shows that needed to talk to Swans players – and now he can come back and play. And that’s the end of it.
Alright Kurt Tippett… let’s see what you’ve got.
