I am in denial about the first part of the year being gone. I bet you’ve already given up on your resolutions, haven’t you? Tsk tsk. I must admit that Australia Day and the long weekend threw me off my game this week but the start of a new month is perfect for renewing motivation! I also discovered APWSW today – I am amazed. Expect to hear more about them in the coming weeks!
AFL to consider luxury tax – Emma Quayle, The Age. This requires extensive review by me, so expect something on this sometime soon.
Post-Super Bowl Depression: A Sign You Need A Hobby – Tom van Riper, Forbes SportsMoney. I am so excited for the Super Bowl! I’m not a fan of the teams that are playing (although my baby sister does live in San Francisco, so I’ll probably be rooting for the 49ers) but I love seeing two brothers go head to head. This was really funny until I realized that I was depressed after the AFL Grand Final. Does that make me pathetic?
Glen Saville Retires – Nat, And the Foul. I watched Sav go down during the NZ Breakers game on Australia Day and when he announced his retirement, I know that there were tears from everyone. He’s a club legend.
Is the NCAA in Danger? – IJSF. This is actually a bit scary. Antitrust law has always eluded me, but after this I am going to have to knuckle down and learn everything about it. Essentially, former players want to be paid for broadcast revenues. That’s HUGE. And if the NCAA lose… well, I’ll let IJSF tell you.
Rajon Rondo Fears: Is ACL Injury Bug NBA’s Version of NFL Concussion Woes? – Trevor Bay, Bleacher Report. Everyone know the NFL is constantly battling the concussion issue (something they have in common with the AFL) and now, with several ACL injuries in the NBA, it’s looking like this is going to be a much debated topic in the coming weeks/months/years. Oh, and by the way, when I heard Rondo was out for the season, I cried (not actually, but you know what I mean).
And because I love you all and think you deserve this, here is a recipe for cake batter fudge. Men: make this for your lady. You have never seen true happiness until you have seen a female eat this.
Now you tell me your favourites this week. And let me know how that cake batter fudge goes over.
